How does it work?

Choose a resort and room type from the Accommodation Directory of Koh Tao . Once you filled out the enquiry form, we will contact you by mail / phone. If the requested resort is available, we will send you an email, that includes a payment link to PayPal. Once we receive your advance payment, we can reconfirm your reservation.

In case the resort is not available, we will try to find you an alternative resort.

Unfortunately the amount of required advance payment is different from each resort or season, but most of them want at least 40% of the total price in advance for a confirmed booking. As soon as we receive a payment we forwarded it to the booked resort and send you a confirmation back.

Information about Koh Tao

oh Tao is to the northeast of Surat Thani, about 38 kilometers from Koh Phangan, and about 64 kilometers away from Chumphon.

Since 2005 it is now really easy to get to Koh Tao. You can drive with one of the high speed catamaran boats. You can also arrive from one of the neighboring islands (Koh Phangan or Koh Samui).

Diving in and around Koh Tao's beautiful coral reefs is the islands main attraction. Resorts on Koh Tao offer a wide range of accommodation to fit most budgets.

Traveling around the island and visiting other beaches and bays pretty easy.. Just off the concrete main road you have to be careful when driving on dirty roads. Pick -ups and taxies can be found almost everywhere.

As KohTao´s reputation spread and rapidly got bigger as it widely became known all over world through international travellers and adventurous visitors. During the last 10 odd years the island has changed in many different ways as it developed to become one of the major dive destinations in Thailand, attracting all levels of divers and water lovers alike. Local fishermen and farmers realised that major business people from other places were developing their island to accommodate to the needs of all these new customers and they also, quickly began to open their own businesses to fulfill all the clienteles demands. From the original bamboo A-Frame huts on the beach for 15 other wise known as farangs.

Around 1947 the 1st settlers laid claim to a large part of land on which is today called as Sairee Beach. These were the twin brothers Khun Ueam & Khun Oh who got to KohTao by boat from the next island of Ko Phangan, Koh Tao was still under Royal Patronage in those days but it didn´t stop these first settlers from claiming their stake of land. The 1st generation of today's community (began,started] settling when they brought over their families and started to harvest and cultivate the rich) soil and natural resources Ko Tao still being under Royal Patronage, plots of land were claimed, and cleared for coconut plantations. You can still see lots of evidence of the huge coconut plantations all over the island. Their lives consisted of harvesting coconuts, growing vegetables and fruit and of course providing for themselves through fishing.

On June the 18th 1899, the then king of Thailand King Chulalongkorn (Rama 5 1868-1910) visited the island and left his monogram as evidence on a big rock at Jor Por Ror Bay (near,next to] Sairee Bay. This location is worshipped until today and get treated with great respect.

It is wierd that such a tourist paradise was at the beginning abused as a prison island. The remote location, made it very difficult for prisoners to find a way to escape by swimming to the shore or nearer Koh Samui. Around 1947, then Khun A-Paiwong, Thailand’s Prime Minister at the time, requested and got a royal pardon for Ko Tao´s prisoners and with thanks to a gracious act by His Majesty the King. They were all released and transported to Suratthani on the mainland and the island was a desert island yet again.
